TRANSPORT MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS
TIPPER TRUCKS
With our own in-house fleet of 65 tipper trucks dedicated to the short haul business, we average 4000t per day into our JHB facility.
Contracted service providers allow for our export book to exceed 300 loads per day nationally, feeding our strategically placed warehouses.
Concept Trucking is further advanced by equipment conceived and developed by Metal Line
such as the Solvidt which provides spillage-free transport, and the mobile and collapsible Boxore
SOLVIDT SOLUTION
The unique Solvidt system enables the group to package and load bulk minerals onto flatbed trucks, using retired conveyor systems as insulation.
The system provides clients with an effective alternative to bulk rail transport, enabling mineral owners to mitigate common service delivery failures in to keep moving cargo.
Solvidt is employed at the group’s head office handling facility, The Hub, where chrome and iron ore is bundled and loaded onto trucks. In Durban, the reverse operation is performed by Metal Line staff to transfer cargo to stockpiles and onto the vessel
The successfully defended Solvidt patent is owned within the family of legacy shareholders, with irrevocable exclusivity granted to the owners of Metal Line Holdings.
BOXORE SOLUTION
Developed in 2018, MLA prides itself on yet another smart trucking solution designed for the usage of moving bulk ore via flat deck/tautliner trucking applications.
BOXORE allows for cargo to be pre-loaded, weighed and staged ready for dispatch adding significant value to any supply chain by improving efficiencies and accuracy. Minimal labour required, no spillage and maximum payload are just some of the advantage points BOXORE offers including compatibility with PBS trucking applications allowing us to achieve up to 52ton per vehicle – a staggering 18t (33%) more per load than any standard truck payload (34t).
Patented in AIRPO (Botswana, Swaziland, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Zambia & Zimbabwe), China, USA, Australia, & South Africa. We are confident that BOXORE will cement itself as one of the preferred methods to transport bulk ore across any platform.
BOXORE
The Boxore transport system consists of a steel and wood box with collapsible walls that can carry up to 10 tons apiece. It’s a method of
bulk shipment on flatbed trucks that requires little upkeep and labour input.
Chris James, designed and prototyped the concept to enable the transport of bulk minerals in greater quantities, with minimal backhaul requirements.
After 18 months of designing and prototyping, the system is now in the final stages of patent approval in the SADEC region as well as China, Australia, Europe and the USA.
The group is in negotiations with City Logistics, to make use of their PBS (Performance Based Standards) vehicles.
A PBS vehicle can achieve up to 33% more volumetric/deck space capacity and 50% more payload, depending on the design and vehicle configuration. This combination could be a significant boon to Metal Line’s capabilities in terms of volume through output and profitability.
